Public Witness and Prayer at abortion clinic

A serious concern has arisen in the Toms River area for which we ask your assistance. An abortion clinic has opened and is operating in the community. We will provide a prayerful presence at the American Women's Center, 651 Route 37 West, Toms River on Wed. from 4:30 to 6 pm, and Fri. and Sat, 1 pm to 5 pm. Pro-Life Prayer Witness

Please join representatives of a number of local respect life organizations at a brief weekly prayer witness at 9:45 a.m. each Saturday morning at the Planned Parenthood facility in Trenton at State and Clinton. We only recite the Rosary, so it is not a huge time commitment, and then we leave. If you would like to get a ride, please call 609-896-3206.

Mass for Infant and Pregnancy Loss

Monday - 7:00 pm – Holy Cross in Rumson - Join Fr. Michael Manning and Holy Cross parish for a Mass of healing for those women and families who have lost babies during pregnancy or in their infancy.  That would include women who had miscarriages, those who lost infants due to premature births, stillbirth, and those who journeyed with their infants through a fatal illness.  Please invite those families you know who have experienced this kind of loss to the liturgy.  Your support and invitation can make the world of difference to those who are grieving or who never grieved in the past.  The Mass for Infant and Pregnancy Loss is scheduled for Monday, March 8 at 7 PM in Holy Cross Church, Rumson.  A reception will follow Mass.  For more information, please call Lori at 842-0348x1123.

Respect Life Mass and Witness for Life

Saturday-9:00 am to 2:00 pm -A peaceful, prayerful, pro-life witness – 9:00 a.m. Mass with Bishop Smith at Saint Anthony Church, Red Bank – Immediately after Mass, process to the Planned Parenthood Abortion Facility in Shrewsbury and pray the Rosary.  Winners of the 2010 Respect Life Poster, Essay and Video Contest will be awarded certificates and prizes at the gathering at St. Anthony Parish Center after the prayer witness.  Contact 609-407-7400 ext 5592 or email: respectlife@dioceseoftrenton.org for additional information.

Celebration of Adoption Mass

Thursday – 7 pm – Holy Cross in Rumson – Vigil of the Feast of St. Joseph - All families who have journeyed through the adoption process are invited to attend.  If you enjoy the blessing of adopted children or are waiting for this joy or have grandchildren who are adopted, this celebration is for you!  Please bring your children so we may all give thanks!  An informal reception will follow Mass where families will be able to meet and share their experiences with others.  Call Lori at 732-842-0348x1123 for more information.

Remembering Who We Are and How to Remind Our Neighbors

Sunday – 3:00 p.m. - In commemoration of the Feast of the Annunciation, St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church, 1900 Brooks Boulevard, Hillsborough, NJ, will host a Respect Life Celebration. This event, sponsored by the Respect Life Office of the Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of Passaic, will be an afternoon of prayer, reflection and fellowship. Everyone is invited to share in the beautiful celebration of two short Byzantine Catholic prayer services and to hear a presentation by Theresa Notare, PhD and Loretta Fleming, MA.

 

The Feast of the Annunciation (March 25) is a feast day with special theological significance for the pro-life cause, since it celebrates the moment when God the Son assumed human nature in Mary's womb. We find the biblical account of the Annunciation in the Gospel of St. Luke, Chapter 1. Here we recall the announcement from the Archangel Gabriel of the good news to Mary that she has been chosen to be the Mother of the Lord, and Mary's affirming response to the will of God, "Let it be done to me according to Your word."
